Sound of Young America: Jeffrey Tambor and Donald Glover

Until recently, Nerdist was the only podcast I regularly listened to. Now, it shares the spotlight with The Sound of Young America.

The shows are very similar, although I think I like Jesse Thorne, host of PRI's the Sound of Young America better. He's hilarious but a little more toned down compared to Nerdist's Chris Hardwick. In each episode, Thorne interviews someone from the entertainment world (actor, writer, comedian/enne, etc.) for 30 minutes to an hour. Like Nerdist, there are a lot of comedians (my favorite!) and actors. Guests on TSoYA have included Elijah Wood, Judd Apatow, Kristen Schaal, Bill Hader, Demetri Martin, Aziz Ansari, and Simon Pegg. Additionally, there are special episodes that contain goodies like live recordings of stand-up routines.

I highly recommend this podcast, and I've posted some of my favorites below. Two are normal interview podcasts featuring Jeffrey Tambor of Arrested Development fame and Donald Glover of Community and 30Rock. The last is a stand-up series featuring one of my favorite comedians Kumail Nanjiani (See old posts about him here, here, and here.) and Kent Haines.

To listen to the podcast, you can either listen to them using your own internet browser by visiting the links I've provided, or you can download them using iTunes on your computer or another iOS device. I've also just discovered that you can download the mp3 for the podcast directly from the Sound of Young America sites that I've noted.
