Video: Matt Smith with Craig Ferguson

I really love this interview with Smith & Ferguson. They really have great chemistry! Matt Smith summons the spirit of Bob Fosse with his black bowler hat.

You may want to plug in headphones to listen, the sound max isn't particularly high.

On the BBC Blog post that featured the above video, there were also these adorable little things. Look! A knitted Doctor and Amelia Pond! And an Ood! (This one is much cuter than the real thing).

And you know what'd be super awesome? If the Doctor and Amy could meet Prince William and Catherine. Now the question is, who would be the more privileged of the two pairings?

Video: Horseradish Fire Alarm

One of the year's Ig Nobel Prize winners included Japanese inventors of this horseradish fire alarm. Thanks to the Night Owl for sharing this with me. You can read the original article here.

Music: Muppets - The Green Album

I grew up on the Muppets. I had all those VHS tapes of all their movies, and now I get to recall those memories of the past with the new Muppets movie coming out!!!!

I found this album on Spotify, and I wish I could link to some youtube videos, but I couldn't really find any.

Highlights from the album

  • The Rainbow Connection (Weezer + Hayley Williams of Paramore)
  • Mahna Mahna (The Fray)
  • Movin' Right Along (The Alkaline Trio)

You can listen to some mp3 samples from Amazon here.

Trailer: Being Elmo

I remember the Baker telling me about this movie a whiles back. This movie, Being Elmo, documents the career of Kevin Clash, the voice and soul of Elmo. It's sure to make you feel warm and fuzzy--just like the little puppet himself. (I assume he's warm blooded.)

You can read an interview with Clash here.

Video: Behind the Scenes The Sing-Off

I always wondered if the groups choreographed the opening number by themselves. Turns out, nope, they don't. But hey, that doesn't detract from the performance!

I love behind the scenes footage, and this is no exception.

Those of you might recognize that Sam Tsui of Youtube fame is the host of these behind the scenes featurettes! Cool, right?! I mentioned him before in this post.

Tribute: Steve Jobs

On October 19, Steve Jobs received a tribute at the Apple Campus in Cupertino, CA. To watch it in its entirety, click here to be redirected to Apple's link. Note: you must have Quicktime to run the video.

Also, Steve Jobs' biography recently came out on Monday. To read some excerpts, click here. To read the book's introduction, see below (Amazon is pretty awesome for letting users embed the free excerpts of books)

Trailer: Like Crazy

I saw this trailer during 50/50's previews. I'm excited to see it! It offers that kind of moody, indie vibe with lots of color filters, scenes with moving traffic in the foreground while lovers meet in the background, and wobbly camera technique.

Here are two trailers.

Any of you notice where these actors were from? Felicity Jones also played Anne Frank's sister Margot in the BBC production (This production was great. I highly recommend it. You can read about it here.). Anton Yelchin played the Ferris Bueller-esque Charlie Bartlett and Scottie in the Star Trek remake.

They seem different, no?

Video: Downton Abbey 2 Interviews with the Cast

God, I can't get Red Nose day out of my head every time I watch Downton trailers. The parody makes a special effort to laugh at the long gazes and solemn stares with musical interludes. Also, I'm pretty sure part of the show's success comes from the music. I love this intro music. Almost as much as I love the Little Dorrit music.

Super thanks to the Baker for sending this to me.

Music: American Boy by Afro Blue

I love their version of this song--more than the original, actually!
